BALD EAGLE STATE FOREST MOTORCYCLE RIDING AREAS 

Trail Closure Guidelines:
The licensed Dual Sport Motorcycle trails on State Forest Lands are open to motorcycles from the Friday before memorial day through the last full weekend in September (summer season) AND From the day following the last day of regular or extended antlerless deer season as established by the Game Commission through the following April 1 (winter season).

DUAL SPORT MOTORCYCLE TRAIL SYSTEM

This area is for street-licensed, inspected and insured motorcycles.

The trails on these loops vary from easy to difficult. The loops are marked with PURPLE blazes, in one direction. Public dirt roads tie together the trail sections.

SHADE MOUNTAIN MOTORCYCLE TRAIL SYSTEM

Shade Mountain is open to dirt bikes with spark arrestors.

The Shade Mountain Riding area is located just north of McAlisterville. A parking lot is 7/10 of a mile past the Snyder County sign going north on 235.

The trails are very rocky, enduro-type trails, and blaze PURPLE in both directions. All trails are designed to CROSS the only dirt road on the mountain so you don’t need a license for your bike.  You do need a license if you decide to ride on the dirt road.
